The Vegatest
Vegatest is one of the latest developments in food sensitivity and intolerance testing. Developed in Germany it measures changes in body resistance. The test is painless and non invasive (no blood is taken), the client simply holds a baton, whilst a probe (rather like a ballpoint pen) is touched on the end of a finger or toe. An acupuncture point is used. The baton and probe are connected to the machine making a complete circuit. Potential allergens are inserted into a honeycomb matrix and a measurement taken. Sensitivities and intolerances can then be detected and appropriate advice on the elimination and replacement of problem foods offered.
We do not test for gluten or for peanuts, since these are best dealt with in a hospital with the appropriate methods available. If you think you have a problem with these please see your GP first.
We must point out however, that our test is a straightforward and simple food test programme. It is NOT a medical diagnosis or an in-depth clinical analysis, nor does it pretend to be so.
Before the test begins we ask you to complete a short questionnaire i.e. any known allergies or medication that you are taking etc. It is advisable to arrive 10 minutes early to complete the short questionnaire.
